Tour St. Jacques
The Tour Saint Jacques/Saint-Jacques Tower has been under scaffolding ever since I moved here in 2005. In fact, it’s been hidden for so long, I forgot what it looked like. About a month ago I was walking by, and lo and behold, the stunning ivory tower was finally unveiled, now beautifying the commercial, somewhat tacky stretch of the rue de Rivoli.
Built between 1508 and 1522, the 52 meter gothic tower is the remains of the church Saint-Jacques-la-Boucherie (Saint James of the Butchery) that was demolished in 1797.It’s patrons were the wholesale butchers from the nearby Les Halles market and Nicolas Flamel, a famous patron is buried under its floor. A statue of Blaise Pascal is at the base of the tower and commemorates his experiments of atmospheric pressure he performed here.

you are the best. so naturally, your parisian blog would be the best way to experience Parisian energy.
this is the only blog where you can not only learn what's totally new and feel the fun but also learn what's totally traditional like a fabulous trip to the Balzac house before going for croissant and camembert at the chicest place in town, Richard's apartment.
